I'm building a new Eleventy site and although I am just using system fonts I noticed the output still calls Google Fonts. Why is this?

This isn't exclusive to Eleventy, I'm also building a WordPress Theme and Statamic site, all have…

HTML:
<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Muli:400,700&amp;display=swap" rel="stylesheet">

In the head meta? Is there any way of stopping this?

Hey Grant! That sounds strange. Are they all the same font in every site that you're not putting there? Could it be a browser extension causing it?

Good shout! Just noticed it's only Firefox Dev Ed, your right, there must be extension calling it.

Thanks for the quick response!

At least in Chrome you have a "source" column in the Network tab. This will tell you some strange named JS file as source if it's an extension starting the request.

Did you figure out if this was an extension Grant? Curious to know what kind of add-on is injecting Google Fonts in to every page! 😄
