Webmonetization

The ability to transfer money has been a long-standing omission from the web platform. As a result, the web suffers from a flood of advertising and corrupt business models. Web Monetization provides an open, native, efficient, and automatic way to compensate creators.

For all wanting to earn some money by blogging or whatever you create but don't want to install a paywall or add ads - webmonetization is a solution.
The users pay automatically by visiting your page, the longer they stay the more money they pay. The users have a monthly limit and it's splitted into a ton of micropayments.
Could also be an idea to support this in the webwide blog @Adam . Every page/url can have it's own payment_pointer - so every author could add his own pointer to also earn by the visitors of his articles on webwide.

This sounds like an interesting idea. Better than advertising at least. Will it take off? Who knows.

I know Dev.to just started doing this, and it's led to me learning so much more about it.

I think it's a really neat idea, and a great way to support bloggers!
