What is some music that you listen to motivate yourself to code, calm your mind before coding or similar?

Synth, dubstep or perhaps nyan cat 10 hours.

Here are some of my favorites that I use to motivate myself.

What's yours 🤓 ?

I got Dragon Quest vibes while going through your playlist haha...

I love a good game soundtrack! There's a modern classical radio station here that does a game soundtrack show called 'The Console' each week:

Really varies depending on the mood. I tend to just throw a playlist on; or choose a song & put that radio on.

If I’m really wanting to focus I might curate a few songs together.

However, when all else fails and I want some easy listening I’ll probably fall back to Ben Folds.

I haven’t bothered to pick anything. I have no clue what any of this is, other than a generic Spotify playlist. I play this quietly in the background just to have some noise.

Mine is a playlist of Boards of Canada, El Ten Eleven and Tycho.

Mainly chilled instrumental!

Ooh good thread. I have a couple playlist I cycle through! I love Synth, 80s pop, disco, Dave Matthews Band, and alt rock!

I don't listen to music to calm me, if anything, it's the opposite sometimes ^^

Unless I need silence to think, I sometimes listen to drum and bass, such as

Lots of film soundtracks - unfortunately Spotify doesn't have a whole lot. I try to go for soft things to prevent ear damage.

This is a recurring favorite:

Either this:

Or whatever acid techno / witch house / heavy synthwave stuff I can find at the time.

Btw soooo excited to go through this thread over the next few days!!! I'm trying this thing where every time I get a recommendation for music or a movie or something, I actually go and check it out. My notes app on my phone is full of "sdjfh podcast" with no context lol

My favorite to write lots of lines is Sabaton. And it's perfect to kill the customer in imagination and/or don't get interrupted by colleagues.
