Hey guys!

I have been working on my personal page for a year now. It is hosted using GitHub pages, but recently I fgiured I can make it dynamic by using Heroku and one thing led to another and I ended up using aws too.

Regarding the title, check Have a personal page for free | Deepjyoti Barman to achieve something similar.

Check my page here

Will appreciate feedbacks. Cheers!

The thread title is misleading. Atm it's only an ad for your page, which is fine. But could you get into detail? What you use GH pages, heroku and AWS for? How you managed to stay free (AWS has only a one year free tier?)?

Sorry about that, I updated the thread with the article link. Check that page to get the details.

What are you using your Heroku-based API to do? What benefit are you getting from using AWS?

Sounds complicated for a blog. 😋

As I have mentioned in my article linked above, my API, which is written in Python, does three things at the moment.
  • In every one of my post there is a clap option, similar to Mediums. The claps are got and posted using the API to aws s3.
  • It also handles the form submissions on my site, whenever someone submits a form, I get a mail.
  • And the last one that I added today, returns two related articles to the current one which are got by jQuerry after the page loads.
It's not complicated, the only thing I had to do is enable CORS, else the requests can't be made.
