I actually like "chiptune" style electronic music. The noisier the better; paradoxically I find it helps me focus. I think the noise fills every corner of my brains and prevents procrastination thoughts popping in. BUT what's stressing me out is the low audio quality 😬

It's better now. I actually had two windows open about 1 second out of sync with eachother which wasn't helping. 😅

SPAM 😂

I talked to one of the Sonic Pi people at Brighton Ruby conference, I don't think it was Sam but they were equally talented and nice. I'm most impressed at being able to type with an audience 🤯

There is one "Join the discussions" button. 😉
Has that been there all along? 😟 I need my eyes testing!

GitHub seem to be doing particularly great things since Microsoft acquisition. Felt like not much was happening before then. Codespaces looks great. I hate local development. I usually use a VPS to keep all those errors and incompatibilities off my system! Shame everything is so JS focused though.

Before it was hidden in a modal opened by a click on the current talk title.

And GH satellite isn't new, it's a conference happening since years. But before Corona it was a real world conference. This year it's an online one. 😉

Sneaky! The conference is cool but I mean just GitHub features in general.

Nah, GitHub itself has do e a great job before! But now there is more money, and possibly GitHub even doesn't have to be profitable anymore.
So they are able to do things that weren't possible or not in scope before.

Like Actions - is only a cool and advanced setup of azure pipelines. So the knowledge, infrastructure and code was already in Microsoft. Without GitHub would had to invent all this by their own.

The new pricing changes are only the move, possible because of a ton of money, to take on bitbucket and kick them out of business. They want to have the OSS Monopol, possible after even Google has closed Code and moved to GH.
It's a model like Adobe, who tolerate the cracked private installations to get the legal company ones. A dev/designer who has worked always with GH/Adobe with good experience will never switch to bitbucket/gitlab and try to convince the boss to switch to bitbucket.
So they "donated" some free private repos for 1-3 devs in the OSS team and got 1-3 company team licenses sold.

And because it's a great product it works. In opposite to jira with bitbucket. Most devs even hate jira and both get worse with every update. 🙈😅
